Canada Metal Pacific Ltd. (CMP) announces its partnership with Ontario-based Dock Edge + Inc.

As reported in IBI News Plus, the agreement announced on September 12, 2016, will allow both companies to “leverage existing synergies and provide both firms with improved access to the market.”

“This announcement is good news for both Dock Edge and for Canada Metal,” says CMP president John Mitchell. “It allows both companies to leverage significant synergies and efficiencies in order to take full advantage of the opportunities ahead.”

The merger will provide CMP an equity interest in dock equipment and marine accessory manufacturer Dock Edge. As such, Dock Edge CEO Walter Szwez along with vice president David Szwez, and directors Michael and Christopher Szwez have become shareholders of CMP.

IBI News Plus also noted that “the alliance will provide CMP with access to Dock Edge’s 80,000sq ft manufacturing plant in Woodbridge, Ontario. Opened in 2014, the state-of-the-art facility will provide CMP with a corporate presence in eastern Canada, along with an ideal site for a new foundry operation. The facility has the capability to be further developed for die cast operations and additional manufacturing in the future.”

Further, Dock Edge gains access to CMP’s worldwide distribution network along with all of CMP’s facilities located in British Columbia, Virginia, China, Italy and Australia.

“There is a natural fit between the Dock Edge and CMP operations,” states Dock Edge + CEO Walter Szwez. “This alliance will add to Dock Edge’s product range and will give the company access to new global markets. Our customers will benefit from more efficiencies and new, innovative products.”
